Welcome to the Salzkammergut

The Salzkammergut region seems for the visitors to come directly out of a picture book.

From nature rich gifts were given, the many varied offers such as gastronomy, traditional custome, entertainment, sport, leisure and cultural activities – here, no holiday wish remains unanswered.

At one of the 76 lakes of the region with its crystal clear water; in the magical mountain landscape, with its rich green Alpine pastures and the fantastic rock face of the 3000m high Dachstein Massiv, in the cultural centres of St. Wolfgang, Hallstatt or the Emperor´s summer residence of Bad Ischl.

In winter in the Salzkammergut area the most peaceful time of the year is still celebrated. Traditions are cherished and Christmas events increase the excitement at the prospect of Christmas. Numerous events in the regions show the many facets of the area.

Wolfgangsee Advent is said to be one of the most beautiful Advents markets of Austria. Snow covered mountains and forests, white, untouched, glistering nature - that‘s exactly what one finds whilst snow shoeing in the white winter world of the Inner Salzkammergut.
